1955 CP AirChime J3 Snowplow Whistle

Snowplow #401006 was built in 1927 for the Canadian Pacific railway at the Angus Shops in Montreal, Canada. Sometime in the early 1950's, the plow was brought in for maintenance and this 1955 AirChime J3 snow plow whistle was applied to the top of the cab. This horn has a serial number of 2516, and features the number three bell reversal for maximum sound coverage.

I obtained this horn from Mr. Albert Menard out of New York state. He surplussed 401006 after CP retired it. Below are some photos of the plow in service, and photos from Mr. Menard after he had cut it up. Luckily he saved the horn and the operating valve in the cab.
